BALTIMORE (WBFF)– With no known end date in the fight against coronavirus, the American Red Cross and blood centers across the U.S. urgently need your help to donate blood. You can help save lives.
In recent weeks, hospital demand for blood products has grown by 30 percent after sharply declining in early April amid this rapidly changing and complex public health crisis.
Scheduled blood drives were forced to cancel as many businesses, community organizations and college campuses closed.
Sinclair Broadcast Group kicked off its “Sinclair Cares: Roll up your sleeves” blood donation initiative on July 10, 2020, with an interview with American Red Cross of the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region board chair and M. Luis Construction Co,. Inc. president David Slaughter. Anyone who is able is asked to make an appointment to donate blood. This program goes on through August.
“This is the time to take care of one another, and blood donation is essential to ensuring the health of those in our community,” WBFF FOX 45 online article.
